In Rockford, IL, there’s a new system just put in in place that contacts landlords by email whenever the police or fire department is called out to a rental property for an issue other than domestic violence. Landlords are required to register with the online database or be fined. The hope is that by informing landlords of nuisance calls to rental properties, landlords will get more involved and teach tenants to be more courteous of others which should help to cut down on the poor behavior of their tenants.
